Rebels Blank RC Connection

Scott H. had to sit out this game because of issues similar to Khabibulin (the back problems, not the DUI) . As a result, Nestor filled in between the pipes for his first time this winter season and played solid enough to earn a shut-out as the Rebels blanked the RC Connection by a score of 4-0. Mike P. opened the scoring near the end of the first half then Dustin added a goal early in the second to give the Rebels a 2-0 lead. The Connection did put on some pressure but Nestor kept them at bay. With the RC goalie pulled Matt G. was able to bury one in the empty in the final minute then added another one for good measure 45 seconds later, this time with the goalie back in the net.

Rebels Get Bit By Piranhas

The Rebels looked to have the game in the bag early on taking a 3-0 lead in the first 15 minutes of the match up. However, the Piranhas were able to answer back with 3 goals in the final 6 minutes to bring the teams to a tie going into the second. The Rebels took the lead 3 more times but each time the Piranhas were able to came right back an tie the game up it wasn't until the the final 4 minutes of the game the the Piranhas were able to get their first lead and managed to hold on to it giving the Rebels a disappointing loss. Mike P. did end the night with a hat trick and an assist for 4 points. Devin and Dustin came out with 3 points each and Cody and Gary contributed 2 points a peice.

Rebels Turn Around and Handcuff Toopers

Write up by Darren:

In their last meeting the Super Troopers doubled up on the Rebels resulting in rare loss for the yellow and red. The Rebels seemed pumped and ready to play, but the Troopers also came out working hard.

As hoped for, this game started out strong with an early exchange of goals for a one-one lock up mid-way through the first period. However, Michael Funk and Gary Holden beat the the not-so-Super goalie to give the Rebels a 3-1 lead going into the second. A few judgement lapses gave our overdressed-opponents hope, but the Rebels owned the field for most of the game resulting in a 6-2 victory for their ninth win of the year.

Kobras Venomless Agianst Rebels

The Rebels completely demolished the AGS Kobras by a score of 8-0. The only contribution the Kobras had to the game sheet was adding 56 minutes in penalties and 4 game ejections. The Kobras did not play a clean game by any means, but the Rebels did keep their cool and kept scoring goal after goal. Matt G. came away with a 4 point night scoring a goal and adding 3 assists. Dustin and Mike P. both scored twice and added an assist each giving them 3 points a piece. Gary ended with 3 points and Ryan and Cody both tallied 2 points each. More importantly though was Scott H. earning yet another shut out which now ties the record for most career shut outs by a Rebel... and he's done it in only 12 games! The win now helps the Rebels claw up closer to first place which is only two points out of their grasp.
