Rebels Come out Flat in Game 2

The Rebels did get on the scoreboard first with a breakaway goal from Alex but then seemed to sit back and let the Raiders control most of the rest of the game. The result was 4 straight goals by the opposing team. The Rebels started pouring it on in the last 5 minutes of the game and were rewarded with a goal from Eric in the final minute but it wasn't enough. Even with an illegal player scoring for the Raiders the Rebels still came up 2 goals short and must now look ahead to a third and deciding game on Saturday.

Rebels Kick Off Playoffs With A Win

The Rebels drew the Raiders for their quarter final best of 3 series. Although the Raiders used an illegal player as a goalie Red still managed to score 2 goals coming from James and Mason. On the other end, Nik played a fantastic game giving himself a well earned shut out. The Rebels can now sweep the series with a win on Tuesday.

Rebels Wrap up Regular Season with a Win

The Rebels managed a 4-3 win over the Crown Royalers. Mason ended the night with 2 goals and an assist for a 3 point night while Alex and Martin came away with 2 a piece.
A few things of note this season...
- The Rebels were above 500 for the first time in 3 seasons with a 12-7-1-0 record.
- The 2nd place regular season finish is the highest the Rebels have ever finished in their 16 season history (their previous highest was 4th place)
- The Rebels also had the least amount of goals against this season in their 16 season history with 41 against (their previous lowest was 44 goals against)
- Nik now has the record for lowest goals against average in a regular season for the Rebels with a 1.94 GAA. That was also good enough to give Nik the best GAA in the division for this season.
Now it's on to the playoffs where the Rebels will have a by through the elimination round and will wait for their match up in the quarter finals.

Rebels Lose in OT

The Rebels opened the scoring versus the Phat Bastards off a goal by Matt. The Bastards came back though with 3 goals in a row to take a 3-1 lead going into the second. Eric single handedly put the Rebels back in the game by scoring 2 goals in a row to tie things up. A winner didn't emerge in regulation so the game needed overtime. It wasn't until the final seconds when the Bastards got a penalty shot that they were able to steal the win from the Rebels. The loss put first place out of reach for the Rebels but the overtime point guaranteed them of a second place finish overall in the division.

Rebels Still in the Hunt for First Place

The Rebels cruised to a relatively easy 5-1 win versus the Flatliners. Mason opend up the scoring just 42 seconds into the game. Eric and Mason then traded goals back and forth to give them each a 2 goal game. Steve then scored shorthanded to give Red a 5-0 lead. It wasn't until just over 2 minutes left in the game the the Flatliners were able to sneak one by Nik denying him the shut out. Steve ended the night with 4 points while Mason, Eric and Matt all came away with 2 points a piece. With the win the Rebels secure at least a second place finish and are still in the running for first.

Rebels Earn Third Straight Win

The Rebels coasted to an easy 7-1 win playing against a depleted roster and goalie-less Raiders. Doven, Eric, Mason, Shiv and Sheldon all tallied two points a piece. Of note, Doven scored his first goal of the season and Bruce took his first point of the season adding an assist. Next up is a HUGE game for the Rebels - a battle for first place against the Hellions.
