Rebels Lose Another Close One

The Rebels came into Monday's game facing the 2nd place Coolies and only 21 seconds into the game the Rebels found themselves down 1-0. But red answered back a minute and a half later, with James blasting a shot from the slot and tying it up. By the end of the frame Rebels were down 2-1. Another quick start by the opposing team in the second added another 32 seconds in and boosted their lead by 2 against the Rebels, but red didn't quit because just over 5 minutes later Scott and Matt set up Neil to put the Rebels within 1. 10 minutes later, still fighting hard Alex and Darko were factors with Steve's blast from the point completing the comeback and tying the game 3-3. But unfortunately the visitors retaliated and sealed themselves a victory 4-3

Rebels Fall To Bush Pirates

Write up by Alex:

The Rebels came into this game facing the number 1 ranked Bush Pirates lot with a lot of confidence. Red worked really hard but eventually were down 2-0 before the end of the first. But a little hope was made when Alex found the back of the net with Chris L. adding the lonely assist, but that wasnt enough while the opposing team came away with a 2-1 victory against the Rebels.

Busted Balls!!!

Write up by Alex:

The Rebels came out with guns blazing and definitely paid off as Alex blasted home his first of the season from Scott and Curt just under 5 minutes into game and didn't quit. Only 6 minutes later a second Rebel player, Chris L found nothing but the back of the net to give Red a 2-0 lead just halfway through the first. Rebels continued catching their opponent off guard because just 4 minutes later, Josh tied the team lead in goals from Steve and Darko and rushed the team up 3 going into the second. Their hard work kept going, they killed off a double minor but eventually got caught as the Ball Busters netted 2 and were all of a sudden within 1. With 5 and a half to go in regulation Scott with a beautiful tee shot off the 18th drove home his 4th of the season and became tied in a 3 way for the team lead in goals, Darko and Steve both added their second helpers of the night.

Blown Gaskets!

Write up by Alex:

The Rebels played their second game in Div 12 against the 12th place Blown Gaskets and came out hard. Just under 7 minutes into the game, Scott with the extra effort in front of the net put home his 3rd of the season and put the Rebels up 1-0. The hard fought play continued and 7 minutes later James netted the Rebels a 2-0 lead going into the second. Faceoffs were big part of the game, half way through the second, a clean win gave Steve the advantage to blast a rocket from the point through traffic and sealed the 3-0 win for the Rebels. Nestor played fantastic and once again picked up his second shutout in 3 games. Steve and Scot both ended the evening with 2 point games.

Balls Too Deep

Write up by Alex:

The Rebels Division 12 debut didn't get off to a great start as they found themselves down by 2 only 3 minutes into the opening frame! It was a fast pace game from both sides with great chances by both teams until the Rebels found themselves down 3-0 with 5 to go in regulation, but the Rebels did not quit. With just under a buck 30 left in the game Josh broke the shutout and found the back of the net while James and Alex added the 2 helpers. Nestor once again was outstanding keeping Red in the game but unfortunately came up short by 2.
